Plans of the Fontilles Sanatorium

Plan of the Santa Isabel pavilion, drawn up by the architect Juan Vidal Ramos, in 1933.

This pavilion was designed in 1926 by the architect Manuel Peris Vallbona and served as a men's residence for over sixty years. Its design reflects a compromise between hygiene criteria and the isolation rules within the sanatorium. An enclosed area is formed around a landscaped central courtyard providing the residents with space for recreation and socialisation. The ground floor included a dining room for men and other services such as a barbershop and games room.
